Formed in 2004 by Emmy Award winners Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, Hazy Mills Productions (HMP) has produced award-winning and critically-acclaimed content in television, film, branded content, theater, and books.
Their breakout hit Hot in Cleveland, starring Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick, and Jane Leeves, launched original programming for TV Land and ran for six seasons. Its spinoff, The Soul Man, starring Cedric the Entertainer and Niecy Nash, ran for five seasons.
In network television, HMP created and produced six seasons of the hit, supernatural drama Grimm for NBC/Universal Television. For Universal Television, HMP also produced the series Crowded, with Patrick Warburton, Carrie Preston, and Stacy Keach, and Sean Saves The World, with Sean Hayes and Thomas Lennon. HMP has also sold scripted pilots to CBS, ABC, FOX, CW, Showtime, F/X, TruTv, UPN, TBS, SYFY, and Bravo.
In 2018, HMP produced pilots Like Family, with Kether Donohue and Brandon Mychal Smith, and So Close, with Sasheer Zamata and Dan Bucatinsky. During the 2018-2019 development season, Hazy Mills sold four comedies and one drama. They are currently producing an animated series for Netflix, titled Q-Force, with Mike Schur.
On the non-scripted side, HMP has produced six seasons of the Emmy Award-winning Hollywood Game Night, the Critics’ Choice Award-nominated The History of Comedy for CNN and Movie Night with Karlie Kloss for Freeform.
In 2018, Hazy Mills ventured into film with their feature debut, Lazy Susan, starring Allison Janney, Sean Hayes, Margo Martindale, Jim Rash, Matthew Broderick, and Carrie Aizley. On Broadway, HMP produced SpongeBob SquarePants, which garnered 12 Tony nominations. And, in a newly created branded content division, HMP produced an award-winning spot for Orbitz as well as award-winning campaigns for TNT, TBS, and Clark Pest Control.
